The Ballerina, (19th Century Pastiche)

Me and a friend who is a photographer and stylist went to some vintage clothing stores downtown and picked a few outfits. We all decided on this one and I worked from photos. Her husband took some photos too and ultimately I used one he had taken. However I completely made up the entire environment she is sitting in, creating the composition, the color palette, the patterns, etc. My clients let me completely do my thing. Didn't impose any thoughts or ideas except they wanted the 19th century look. I was completely free to create! What a difference in the finished work.
